    ...Google Is The Winner So Far. Google's implementation, at least in this demonstration, brings real-time search front and center, displays commentary from Tweets, links being shared through a variety of channels and will soon display messages from MySpace and Facebook. It's broader, the User Experience is better and it's more prominent.

    Google Unveils New Format For Online News (paidContent.org)

    In early May, Google VP Marissa Mayer told a senate committee that she believed stories online should be "living;" rather than post multiple articles on the same topic under separate URLs, publishers should instead update existing pages. Google has now unveiled the result of a collaboration with the NYT and Washington Post to develop a new online story format that fits with the "living" concept.

    ...The example that Google VP of Engineering Vic Gundotra showed on stage involved taking a picture of a particular bottle of wine. When he ran it through Google Goggles, the result showed that the particular bottle has a hint of apricots.

    Kindle Fantasies Are Running Wild–But, For Now, Amazon Is Losing Its Shirt (TBIResearch)

    ...Amazon accounts for about half of US e-reader sales currently and is losing money selling e-books. Here is how:

    • Book publishers are standing their ground on wholesales prices – selling books at about $12 to distributors regardless of if it is a print copy or digital copy.
    • Amazon sells them for $9.99, losing about $2 per sale.

    It's Google Chrome Day! Extensions & Mac Version Available Now (ReadWriteWeb)

    Google Chrome may be the best browser on the market. It's faster and more stable than Firefox and today began opening up to user modification with the availability of more than 300 browser extensions. Official Mac and Linux versions were just made available today as well.
