2010 CES: TomTom EASE GPS entry-level PND that changes colors

Consumer Reports News: January 06, 2010 11:08 AM

TomTom today unveiled a new entry-level portable navigation device at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Designed for simplicity and ease of use, the aptly named EASE features a new interface with a two-button menu that TomTom says makes features easy to find and use. The EASE features a 3.5-inch screen and integrated folding EasyPort mount. It will be available with changeable covers in a variety of colors.

Other features include text-to-speech for spoken street names, TomTom's IQ Routes technology that factors historic traffic patterns when planning routes, HelpMe button for emergency help, preloaded maps of the United States and Puerto Rico, and a point-of-interest menu with more than three million gas stations, restaurants, parks, and other entries.

The EASE is scheduled to be in stores early 2010.
