2010 International Builders' Show Product Preview: Schlage SecureKey

Consumer Reports News: January 22, 2010 01:09 PM

Schlage has unveiled an improved rekeying process for its SecureKey door locks, which is designed to let you safely grant temporary access to guests or contractors without having to change the lock afterward. Earlier versions of the SecureKey and Kwikset's SmartKey required you to use added tools or complex sequences of turns to rekey a lock.

Schlage claims that the new keys are 10 times more secure from duplication than other rekeyable locks and more resistant to picking and bump keys.

The new rekeying process is much simpler, as you'll see in the video (right) with Bob Markovich, editor of the Consumer Reports Home franchise.
