Product Preview: Delta Pilar single-handle pull-down faucet

The Delta Pilar is a touch-activated faucet.

Delta's Pilar single-handle pull-down faucet is now equipped with Touch ₂O Technology, a handy feature that allows you to turn on and off the water with just a touch on the faucet's curvaceous body.

Delta engineers claim the Touch ₂O sensor can even determine whether you're tapping the faucet to activate the flow of water or grabbing the spout to move it by measuring the duration of your touch. And to prevent you from wasting gallons of water, the faucet shuts off automatically if the water is left running with no activity for four minutes, according to the manufacturer. You can also disable the Touch ₂O feature so a child or even a cat doesn't accidentally turn on the water.

The new faucet ($495) is available in a chrome or a stainless finish; a bronze finish is due out later this year.
