LG Remarq, available from May 9th from Sprint for free with a two-year contract after rebates, promises to sooth the consciences or green-minded folks. LG says its case is made from 19 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, and that the entire handset is 87 percent recyclable. Ditto for the packaging, which is also made from recyclable material. Measuring 3.5 in. x 2.5 in. x 0.6 in, and weighing a mere 3.8 oz., this wide-body slider looks similar to LG's Lotus, a flip-style phone whose size and shape resemble a makeup case designed to appeal to female customers.
The slide-out QWERTY keyboard is obviously handy for messaging, though keys are on the tiny side.
Otherwise, the phone is un-remarq-able. The 320 x240 QVGA display measures an adequate 1.92 in. x 1.45 in, and the camera is a puny 1.3 megapixels. The phone also has an MP3 player, stereo Bluetooth, and support for microSD cards up to 16GB.
