Today is launch day for the Motorola Droid X, the hotly anticipated Android smart phone from Verizon.
The Droid X goes on sale, online and in Verizon Wireless stores, for $200 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
Among other virtues, the phone boasts a sharp 4.3-inch multitouch display, among the largest on the market, and an 8-megapixel camera that can beam videos to your HDTV wirelessly.
Now that the Droid X is out at retail, we've bought it and are testing it in our labs, to confirm that the retail version performs as ably as the press sample we obtained a few weeks back (we paid for its use, as per our policy). We expect soon to add the Droid X to our Ratings of smart phones, available to subscribers.
In the meantime, you can check out our first impressions of the Droid X via our earlier First Looks: Motorola Droid X post.
