Ergo Chef is adding a 4-piece steak knife set and a 17-slot station block to its Guy Fieri Knuckle Sandwich cutlery collection. "It's all about go big or go home," said the high-octane, peroxide-coiffed host of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on the Food Network. The new items will be available later this year.
Fieri's original collection didn't launch in time for Consumer Reports latest review of kitchen knives. But if the blades are as good as he claims—"a combination of the best materials with a design that will blow your mind"—they'll be the exception to most celebrity-endorsed cutlery we've tested. The Martha Stewart Collection Triple Riveted knives, $100, came in last in our Ratings of nearly 50 products. Paula Deen's $100 collection was a cut above Martha, but still well below our recommended models.
Emeril Lagasse's Wusthof Emeril Professional knives got the highest celebrity marks in our tests, but at $500 they're also some of the priciest.
