A rundown of holiday deals

We've been reminding consumers all season long that great shopping deals don't end with Black Friday or Cyber Monday. If anything, retailers are trying to build on the momentum of Thanksgiving weekend sales with additional bargains they're hoping shoppers will find irresistible. Every day, my inbox is flooded with a new round of promotions. When one ends, another begins. So there's no need to panic. There's still plenty of time to save money on your holiday shopping. Here's a smattering of some recent offerings. Note that some deals end today, Dec. 6, at midnight.

• Toy R Us. Today only, the megamerchant is knocking up to 60 percent off the price of thousands of toys and games purchased online. If you join the chain's rewards program (it's free), you'll receive 10 percent off the amount you spend through Dec. 24 in the form of rewards certificates good for future purchases. • Modell's. The Northeast sporting goods chain is offering 20 percent off Internet orders of $100 or more today, plus free shipping on purchases  of at least $49. Enter promo code MODFFDEC10 at checkout to get the discount.

• Williams-Sonoma. Through Dec. 12, get 20 percent off all cookware, including fancy brands like All-Clad, Calphalon, and Le Creuset. Use promo code WSCOOK20 at checkout.

• Petco. Through Dec. 9, pet owners can take 20 percent off everything sitewide except for food and litter, which is discounted 10 percent. 

• Harry & David. The high-end fruit and gift-basket merchant is dangling a one-day, 25 percent discount on orders of $75 or more.

• Talbots. Through Dec. 13, the upscale women's clothier has a buy-one, get-one-at-half-off promotion on all full- and sale-priced goods in stores and online.

• Lord & Taylor. Click here for a printable coupon good for 20 percent off of regular- and sale-priced merchandise storewide through Dec. 8. For similar discounts online, enter promo code READY at checkout. As with many department store sales, some merchandise is excluded from the sale. So read the details carefully.

• Gap. Save 25 percent off your entire online purchase today, 20 percent off tomorrow, and 15 percent off on Dec. 8. Enter code GAPSAVENOW at checkout.

• Land's End. Save 25 percent sitewide through Tuesday, and get free shipping on orders of $50 or more. Enter promo code WREATH25 and PIN 2123 at checkout.

• Sears. Through Dec. 9, 20 percent off all Kenmore appliances priced at $399 or more (along with free delivery, via rebate reimbursement), plus an additional 5 percent if purchased with a Sears charge card. Company will haul away old appliance at no extra charge, too.
