I took a closer look at Motorola's Xoom tablet today during the Consumer Electronics Show. It's a sleek tablet, lightweight, thin, and comfortable to hold. The most notable difference on the hardware from other tablets is the lack of buttons. Everything is controlled using virtual keys on the display.

The Android 3 (Honeycomb) opening screen provides one-step access to your apps. When you turn it on, you'll see several widgetsone with your e-mail, another with your calendar, and a third a scrolling list of your bookmarks. Your apps are available right below.

The browser supports multiple tabs (instead of opening separate pages as you must on the iPad). The company also showed a video of Mapquest running on Android 3with 3D images of cities and instant zoom on the maps.
