CES 2011: Samsung's smart appliances keep you connected and green (video)

The "smart home" has been touted at every CES in recent memory, it seems. But with broadband and wireless technologies, maybe this concept is really ready to arrive. Consumer Reports' Marc Perton visited Samsung's smart-home display to check out some of the Jetsons-like appliances debuting this year.

Watch our video to see, for example, a refrigerator with an LCD TV embedded on the front of its door; it also has a "grocery manager" functionality that tells you when you're running out of a certain food, when foods are due to expire, and even what kinds of chow you should stock up on to keep your diet  nutritionally sound. It also incorporates a smart grid to help you manage your home energy usage.

Check back for more smart-device news from CES.
