Camera maker Canon has introduced four new 12-megapixel subcompacts. Here are some details:
In conjunction with this announcement, Canon has also altered the naming convention of some of their cameras: PowerShot Digital Elphs will now be referred to as just Elphs. The company has dropped the word "digital," since all its new camera introductions are just that.
Also, "SD" will no longer appear before model numbers, but "HS," which stands for "high sensitivity," will appear after model numbers. Until now, most Elphs had "IS" after the model number, which stood for "image stabilization." That feature is now standard on all Canons Elphs.
The new PowerShots will all be available in March.
