HP has just introduced its first tablet computer, the HP TouchPad. It runs HP's WebOS operating system, has a 9.7-inch, 1024-by-768 display, and weighs 1.6 pounds. The TouchPad supports video chatting, voice phone calls, and uses a dual-core 1.2-GHz processor. Storage is either 16GB or 32GB, and it has a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass.

HP also unveiled two new WebOS phones, the Pre 3 and Veer; the latter is the smallest WebOS phone to date.

Update: HP's TouchPad website is live; photo of the device after the jump.

Update: HP's press release says the Wi-Fi version of the TouchPad will be available this summer, followed later this year by 3G and 4G versions. But no pricing or exact availability is being announced yet.
