Pentax just introduced two new rugged models: the Optio WG-1 ($350) and Optio WG-1 GPS ($400). As its name implies, the latter model includes a GPS mode that lets you geotag your photos. Both models feature a unique, "outdoorsy" camera-body design.

Pentax has been one of the first camera companies to produce a rugged or waterproof camera, often producing waterproof models with unique features, such as the Optio W90.

Each of the new models is 14 megapixels, has a 5x non-telescoping zoom lens and 2.7-inch LCD, is said to be waterproof to a depth of 33 feet, and should withstand a 5-foot drop. Each also includes five small LED lights positioned around the lens for close-up photos, smile shutter, and blink detection. They're both compatible with infrared remotes, so you can operate them remotely.

The Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS and Optio WG-1 will be available in April.
