Masco Corporation announced a deal this week with the City of Meadows Place, Texas, under which Masco-owned Behr paint will become the town's official paint. As part of the agreement, Behr will supply enough exterior paint for 10 homes, labor for three of those homes, and expert advice for local contractors. Selected homeowners will be given the option of Behr Premium Plus Ultra or Behr Premium Plus exterior paints.
"We're honored that an exemplary city such as City of Meadows Place has selected our quality painting products as the official paint standard for its building exteriors," said Joe Richardson, senior vice president of professional products and services for Behr, in the news release. "We are happy that we can help the city create and maintain a distinct and exceptional community through building preservation and aesthetic updates."
But will the good people of Meadows Place--all 4,512 of them, according the 2010 U.S. Census--be happy with the deal? Behr has been one of Consumer Reports top-rated brands in past exterior paint reports, and the Premium Plus and Premium Plus Ultra lines are both performing well again in our latest round of testing.
