Google to stream today's total lunar eclipse

Update: Google's homepage doodle is following along with the eclipse.

Astronomy buffs, are you on the wrong side of the planet for today's total lunar eclipse? Google to the rescue. The company plans to stream the event in real time, in partnership with Slooh Space Camera. Coverage starts at 11:00 AM Pacific time.

You'll also be treated to "audio narrations from real-life astronomers"—which is probably a good thing for the ADD set, as lunar eclipses take their sweet time (today's will be 100 minutes long).

To view on your PC, go to Slooh's site. You can also watch at Google's YouTube page or from the Sky layer in Google Earth (for which you'll need to download this kml). If you'd prefer to watch on your phone (Android, of course), download the Slooh Space Camera Android app.
