Nintendo's US. server hacked, no customer info compromised

Consumer Reports News: June 06, 2011 02:13 PM

Nintendo revealed Sunday that a server for its U.S. website was hacked last month, but said no customer information had been compromised.

Nintendo said in an e-mail statement that the hack caused no operational problems and revealed no sensitive information, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The hacker group LulzSec said it was responsible for the hack in a Twitter post, but said it meant no harm and that it obtained only a configuration file.

Last week, LulzSec claimed responsibility for the hacks that have plagued Sony since April. More than 100 million users have had personal information revealed, including user names, e-mail addresses, and other material.
