In memory of revered musician and inventor Les Paul, whose 96th birthday would have been today, the Google Doodle is a guitar—actually, a composite of numerous guitar strings—that you can strum with your cursor or play specific notes with the letters or numbers on your keyboard. If you like your composition, you can even record it, play it back, and link to it (in the U.S. only).
The Official Google blog says the Doodle is "inspired by the guitar developed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee that made the sound of rock and roll possible." Paul built the world's first electric guitar, among other musical innovations.
