The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced yesterday a recall of Playsafe Dartmouth Swing Sets. The swings use plastic sling-style seats that can break during use and pose fall and injury risks.

The play yard sets affected by this recall were imported from China by Pacific Cycle Inc. of Madison, Wis., and bear the model number 22-PS340 with date codes FSD0115AA and FSD0315AA. Roughly 5,500 of the swing set were sold exclusively at Toys R Us stores nationwide from January to May of this year.

Consumers should immediately stop using the sling-style swing seats, remove the seats from the swing set and contact Pacific Cycle (toll-free: 877-564-2261, website: www.pacific-cycle.com, e-mail: customerservice at pacific-cycle.com) to obtain free replacement seats.

Pacific Cycle has received five reports of injuries involving minor cuts and bruises, says the CPSC. But the federal regulators are still interested in receiving other consumers' experiences with the recalled product. Visit the CPSC website, www.saferproducts.gov/, for more information on reporting unsafe products.
