Adobe has issued an security update to fix a critical security flaw in its Flash software used by computers and Google Android-powered smart phones.
The Flash vulnerability could cause the computer or smart phone to crash and allow a hacker to take control of the device.
Adobe and security experts reported several incidents where malicious software coders are using e-mail messages with embedded links that direct victims to websites that exploit the flaw in the Adobe Flash software.
Adobe says the security fix is available now, ahead of its regular software updates, and should be applied for the following software versions:
Computer users are urged to get the software fix by downloading the latest version of Adobe Flash from the Adobe Flash Player Download Center or, for smart phone owners, from the Android Marketplace.
