The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of 81,000 Pottery Barn Kids dolls in the U.S., and 1,300 in Canada because the dolls' hair can pose a strangulation hazard to children.
The Chloe, Sophie and Audrey soft dolls have yarn hair that may contain loops big enough to fit around a child's head and neck. In addition, the Audrey doll's headband, if loosened, can form a loop that fits around a child's head and neck.
The dolls were sold for about $40 at Pottery Barn Kids stores nationwide, and online at www.potterybarnkids.com from July 2006 to April 2011. Each doll measures about 17 inches. Audrey's hair is black, Chloe's is dark brown and Sophie's is blonde. The dolls are part of Pottery Barn Kids' Girl Doll Collection. The doll's name are printed on a tag sewn onto their bottoms.
The looped doll hair can be cut, and the headband removed, but consumers can also call Pottery Barn Kids at at 855-880-4504 for how to return the affected dolls for a merchandise credit.
