Toyota is recalling 210,000 Sienna vehicles from model year 2011 through 2012, for failing to comply with federal requirements that specify a vehicle capacity weight be displayed as the rated load for the combination of both cargo and occupants.
Incorrect information on the vehicle placard can lead to tire overloading, possibly leading to tire failure and increasing the risk of a crash. The requirements fall under the federal motor vehicle safety standard number 110, "tire selections and rims."
Toyota will mail out a corrected placard and revised owner manual information for free. For more information owners can call Toyota at 800-331-4331, or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.Safercar.gov.
