At the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Lenovo unveiled the latest additions to its computer lines, including a pair of new "ultrabooks," the U310 and U410.
The slim laptops measure less than an inch thick, similar to Apple's Macbook Air and other competitive ultrabooks. Both are powered by Intel processors, Microsoft Windows 7, and will offer a range of storage options from a 64 GB solid state hard drive up to a conventional 500 GB hard drive.
The U310, which weighs about 3.78 pounds, will have a 13.3-inch screen while the U410 boasts a 14-inch screen powered by a NVIDIA GeForce 610M graphics card with a gigabyte of dedicated video memory. While the U410 is slightly heavier at 4.18 pounds, both Lenovo ultrabooks' screens are high-def, featuring 16:9 display formats as well as Intel's wireless display technology, WiDi.
Both ultra-thin laptops are expected in May with a starting price of about $700.
We'll have more details on these and other developments from 2012 CES in Las Vegas. But for more information on choosing the right laptop for your needs, see Consumer Reports buying guide to computers.
