Along with other electronics categories, digital cameras are evolving to be smaller, lighter, and more feature-rich. And we should see lots of these new cameras at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show, which starts January 9.

In this video, our camera expert Terry Sullivan talks about some of the advanced features he expects to see on the new camera models at the show. One current trend that should continue is the proliferation of SLR-like mirrorless cameras, which are much less bulky than SLRs but still let you swap lenses and deliver high-quality images. Point-and-shoot cameras are getting more sophisticated as well, with features such as 16x zoom, better low-light performance, and wireless connectivity for easy image uploading.

Watch our video for more details and information, and check back often for additional previews and from-the-show-floor coverage of the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show.
