Target has recalled about 55,000 LED flashlight sets (each set contains six flashlights), because when turned on, the flashlights can heat up, smoke or melt, posing a fire and burn hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reported today.
Target has received four reports of incidents regarding the recalled flashlights, including two minor burn injuries to consumer's hands.
The recall involves six-piece LED Flashlight Sets, made of silver plastic with black rubber around the handle and light base. UPC code 490021010049 is printed on the back of the package. Each package includes two small flashlights about 3 inches long, two medium flashlights about 6 inches long, and two large flashlights about 7.5 inches long.
The recalled flashlight sets were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide from October 2010 through December 2011 for about $10 per packaged set.
Consumers should immediately stop using the flashlights and return them to any Target store for a full refund. For more information, call Target at 800-440-0680, or visit www.target.com.
