If you've been on the fence about buying a new tablet because you don't want to break the bank, take heart. Three of the four newly recommended tablets in our latest batch of Ratings are Consumer Reports Best Buys (recommended models with the best combination of performance and price), as are the Apple iPad 2 and several others.
Among the latest Best Buys is Samsung's 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2. Its excellent portability helped make it our top choice among Wi-Fi models of its size.
Asus added a bit of extra versatility to its tablets with the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, which has an optional keyboard that turns the tablet into a netbook-like device. Now Asus is offering the Transformer Pad, a tablet that's very similar to the Prime but costs over $100 less.
Even the Apple iPad costs less, if you're willing to opt for the older iPad 2 over the newest version. We still recommend the iPad 2, and at $400 with Wi-Fi and 16GB of storage, it's a good deal.
We've added a total of six new tablets to our tablet Ratings. Take a look to see which one might be right for you.
