"Award winning." "World famous." "Fluffier, more flavorful." Restaurants around the country certainly don't hold back when it comes to boasting about the pancakes they serve. But sometimes what the waitress delivers you doesn't live up to hype. Some pancakes in the taste-off had inviting crispy edges a browned, buttery flavor, while others lacked a from-scratch appeal and tasted like they were made from a boxed mix.
