CES 2013: PlasticLogic's bendy PaperTab concept brings future displays a bit closer

Flexible displays have been lurking around the future-tech corner for years: This year at CES, PlasticLogic is showing off the PaperTab, a concept product that might mean we'll all be folding and rolling our devices soon.

PaperTab was developed by the company in conjunction with Intel and Queen's University. PlasticLogic says it "looks and feels just like a sheet of paper. However, it is fully interactive with a flexible, high-resolution 10.7-inch plastic display developed by Plastic Logic, a flexible touchscreen, and powered by the second generation Intel CoreTM i5 Processor."

The company says each PaperTab will run one app at a time, so you'd carry numerous sheets around with you, kind of like a... book! (So all of you "I miss paper" people should be somewhat mollified to hear this.) You'll interact with PaperTabs by folding down a corner to page through a website, or by placing one in an out-tray to send e-mail, for example.

See PlasticLogic's website for more information, photos, and a video. And check out the rest of our CES 2013 coverage.
