HTC One impressed us—now you can get one too

Consumer Reports News: April 19, 2013 10:38 AM

If you've been holding your breath waiting for HTC's newest warrior in the smart-phone wars, you can exhale: The HTC One is now available both online and in stores as of today.

AT&T's silver version of the One costs $200 with 32GB of memory and $300 for 64GB, with a two-year contract. Sprint is offering the phone at $300 for 32GB, also with a two-year contract; it also has a special limited-time offer to pay just $100 for the phone for customers who are bringing their phone number to Sprint on a new line of service.

Stores carrying the One include Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, Target, and Amazon.com, among others. And it's "coming soon" to T-Mobile, says HTC's press release.

Update: T-Mobile is selling the HTC One today too, for a down payment of $100 and $20 a month for two years, via its new "no-contract" plan.

From our phone guru Mike Gikas's review of the HTC One:

In the battle for smart-phone supremacy, the highly anticipated HTC One appears to be the Taiwanese manufacturer's best warrior yet. While we haven't yet fully tested the HTC One, which hits the market next week, the press sample of the phone I've been using for several days has been very impressive.
