Detailed Test Results

Performance: Overall this desktop's performance was good, below that of many other models but still powerful enough for tasks such as email, word processing, web browsing, and streaming movies. Compared to other tested desktops, its speed was adequate for common tasks such as web browsing, video conferencing, and application startup. Speed was adequate when composing documents, working on data spreadsheets, and other productivity tasks, and its speed was adequate for manipulating filters on images, converting and editing videos, and rendering models and calculating simulations. Graphical tasks run faster among other models with only integrated graphics.

Ease of Use: The desktop is bundled with a keyboard and mouse. Its features were well-designed, and it was comfortable and convenient to use. The keyboard and mouse are both wireless, adding to convenience when placing them. Keyboard letters were high contrast and easy to read, but its keys were smaller-sized and may be uncomfortable to type on. Keyboard features such as media playback and volume control keys add convenience. The wireless mouse has a scroll wheel. The storage drive can be easily replaced. The power button is not in a convenient location, and is either hard to access, or easy to press accidentally. The case has no LED indicator for storage drive activity. The display can rotate between landscape and portrait orientation, and can spin horizontally without adjusting the base.

Display: The display quality was very good overall. Colors were near-accurate and mostly realistic and natural looking. The desktop's display was anti-reflective, so there was little or no glare when viewing in a brightly lit room. It has HDR settings that can show fine detail and is helpful for use in dark rooms. The display has a wide viewing angle, especially important if more than one person needs to see the screen at a time, say, for a video or presentation.

Useful features and attributes on this model include: The display is a touchscreen that allows a convenient way to interact and navigate using the screen. You can connect common external devices such as backup drives and Blu-ray burners using USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps). Video outputs include: an HDMI full-size port supporting HDMI 1.4, a DisplayPort full-size port; these are useful for connecting to a TV or separate monitor. The chassis has room to upgrade some hardware: either storage or memory can be replaced, but there is no room to add a dedicated graphcis card.

Downsides: There is no memory-card reader, so you'll need to buy an external reader or connect your digital camera directly to this desktop to transfer photos. There's no optical drive like a CD or DVD reader, so you'll have to buy an external drive if you need one.
