Detailed Test Results

Performance: Overall this desktop's performance was excellent. Compared to other tested desktops, it was among the fastest with common tasks such as web browsing and video conferencing. Applications start up almost instantly. It was among the fastest when composing multiple documents with images, calculating large complex data spreadsheets, and running other demanding productivity tasks. Graphical tasks run faster among other models with only integrated graphics.

Ease of Use: Unlike many desktops, this computer does not include a keyboard or mouse, which are sold separately. It had well-designed features that made it comfortable or convenient to use. You can't easily replace the storage drive.

Display:

Useful features and attributes on this model include: You can connect common external devices such as backup drives and DVD burners using USB4 Gen 3x2 (40 Gbps). It also has Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps) supported over USB. 2.5Gb ethernet provides fast transfer of data over a local network. Video outputs include: a HDMI full-size port supporting HDMI 2.1, and supporting Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps) and DisplayPort over USB-C; these are useful for connecting to a TV or separate monitor.

Downsides: There is no memory-card reader, so you'll need to buy an external reader or connect your digital camera directly to this desktop to transfer photos. There's no optical drive like a CD or DVD reader, so you'll have to buy an external drive if you need one. The chassis has no easy upgradability: neither storage nor memory can be replaced.

About

The Apple Mac mini (M6) is mini pc. It has 16GB of memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. It has an Apple M6 (12 core) 4.8GHz processor and integrated Apple M6 12-core GPU graphics. However, it lacks an optical drive for burning CDs or DVDs. It comes with macOS Golden Gate 27.0 pre-installed.

It has 3 type-C USB ports in the rear and 2 type-C USB ports accessible from the front or sides. Video outputs include: a HDMI full-size port supporting HDMI 2.1, and supporting Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps) and DisplayPort over USB-C; these are useful for connecting to a TV or separate monitor. WiFi 7 is supported with a compatible router, which can utilize multiple bands for better throughput, and works best for heavy streaming or dense smart home configurations. It has Bluetooth 6.0 built-in.

The Mac mini (M6) measures 5 inches wide by 2 inches high by 5 inches deep. As a mini pc, the extra-small case is designed to take up less desk space and may be easier to hide away. A standard manufacturer's warranty for computers covers 1-year, but some vendors may provide free additional duration. Apple's standard tech support service will last 3-months from purchase.
