Design and features:Although it lacks active noise reduction, the earplug-like design of this portable ear-insert model helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The earphones have high sensitivity, so they can provide satisfying volume levels even when used with lower-powered portable audio devices. This model comes with a whopping 13 pairs of earpieces of various types and sizes, a 4-conductor balanced stereo plug to 3-conductor standard stereo plug adapter, a cable-shortening spool, and a carrying case.
Sound quality: The sound of the RE-600 Songbird has some glaring issues, but the overall sound is nonetheless good, with a neutral to warm character. The bass is anemic - it's a bit recessed with so-so impact, and it doesn't go deep. Midrange is a bit nasal, and treble is soft and recessed, and upper treble is rolled off. Despite having decent midrange and treble dynamics, the sound is somewhat lifeless overall; it's somewhat open sounding in the midrange and lower treble, but there's a pervasive haziness in the midrange and treble.
Comfort: We found these earphones fit and stay in place with no problem, but they produce sense of pressure in the ear opening that might be uncomfortable for some.
