    Detailed Test Results

Performance: Performance was very good. Speed was above average for productivity and Web-based tasks such as word processing, Web browsing, and online game play. Since there are few instances where you will be working on multiple tasks simultaneously, you may rarely see the increased performance.

Portability: This Chromebook is a Good choice for traveling, although not ideal. Battery life lasted 6.75 hours in a light load of web browsing tests, and 4.5 hours in a heavier load of 4K video playback tests. Results were sufficient to get through most of a workday of mixed use tasks, but not as notable as similar Chromebooks. At 3 lbs, weight was typical for a Chromebook this size and light enough to carry for long periods of time.

Ergonomics: Some features of the keyboard and case were well-designed, making it comfortable or convenient to use. The keyboard has large keys and was comfortably sized. Its high contrast letters were easy to read. The power button labeling was hard to read when the chromebook is off, and it was inconveniently placed, either difficult to reach or too easy to accidentally press. Friction on the touchscreen may prevent fast swiping, and fingerprints may take some effort to clean off. Testers liked the sturdy build of the chassis, but the touchpad can get slightly noisy when clicking.

Display: The display quality was Very Good overall. Colors were in the ballpark, though not completely accurate. The display has a wide viewing angle, especially important if more than one person needs to see the screen at a time, say, for a video or presentation. Its display has better contrast than on most other tested Chromebooks.

Useful features and attributes on this model include: The Chromebook has a convertible form factor and can be folded backwards for use as a tablet. You can connect common external devices such as hard drives and DVD players using USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) for maximum performance. This Chromebook supports DisplayPort over USB-C for connecting to an HDTV or monitor. The power supply and chassis are lighter than the average weight of a chromebook and power supply. This model still has most of its lifespan remaining during which Google will continue to update the OS.
