Sound quality: Bestisan's Soundbar Model SG08 has Fair overall sound quality - this model has sonic shortcomings that leave a lot to be desired when listening to music but don't rule it out for dialog. In the Music sound mode, the bass goes fairly deep, but is very prominent and tubby and has excessive impact. Midrange is fairly even, but is somewhat grainy, hazy, a bit echoey, and even with moderately bassy material can be overwhelmed by the bass. Treble is extended, but is somewhat smeared, and even with moderately bassy material can be overwhelmed by the bass. Does a so-so job of recovering the actual room ambience from the recording; the tubby quality of the bass can create an artificial sense of room ambience in the lower frequencies. The overall sound is somewhat congested. The sound field extends somewhat above, but not much beyond the width of the speaker array, and lacks front to back depth. The various sound modes have a noticeable effect on the sound field and/or tonal balance. There was no significant difference in sound quality between the optical, coaxial, aux, USB, and Bluetooth inputs. The system can provide satisfying volume in a medium sized room.
