Sound quality: Roku's Streambar SE has mediocre overall sound quality - this model has sonic shortcomings that leave a lot to be desired when listening to music but don't rule it out for dialog. In the Music sound mode the bass has so-so impact and is a bit prominent and somewhat tubby and deep bass is lacking. Midrange is a bit hazy and somewhat muffled. Treble is somewhat smeared and a bit sizzly and upper treble is muted. It does a so-so job of recovering room ambience in the upper midrange, but not much anywhere else and the overall sound is congested and depending on content the audio is somewhat compressed. With stereo program material the two channel sound field extends a bit above and not much to the sides of the speaker array, and lacks depth. Individual instruments and voices can be identified, but have a two dimensional quality. The other sound modes have a noticeable effect on the sound field and/or tonal balance.
TV ease of use: Very good overall.
