Sound Quality: Overall, we found the speaker delivers middling sound quality. Expect some distortions or other audio issues. The bass, which covers instruments such as bass drums, bass guitars, or stand-up bass, has good impact and goes fairly deep, and it is a bit prominent and boomy. Midrange, such as guitars, horns, and voices from music or podcasts, is fairly even, but it is somewhat hazy, a bit grainy and congested. Treble, which may include cymbals or the upper range of violins, is fairly extended, but it is somewhat smeared, a bit sizzly. Does a decent job of recovering room ambience. The soundfield extends a bit above and to the sides of the speakers, and while individual instruments and voices are identifiable, they only have a two dimensional quality. Volume is enough to fill a medium sized room. If you choose to pair this speaker with another, the stereo set can be placed to provide better separation than other models.
Ease of Use: The speaker has many features or accessories that add convenience during daily operation. Shortcut buttons on the console include: volume. A fender strap is conveniently included to help with carrying or moving the speaker. Its rating of IP67 has complete protection against dust and particles, and has protection against immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
Versatility: It is missing some features users typically want and need. You can connect wirelessly to this speaker via a direct Bluetooth connection. There are no connection ports on this speaker. It has a proprietary party mode function for broadcasting music to other compatible Fender speakers. If you have two of these speakers, you can use TWS to pair them for a wider stereo experience. There are no tone control or EQ settings for customizing your listening experience. There is no speakerphone functionality nor built-in microphone.
