Sound quality: Marshall's Emberton III had acceptable overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. Bass has decent impact, is a touch subdued and boomy and the deepest bass is lacking. Midrange is fairly even but is somewhat hazy and a bit grainy and congested. Treble is fairly extended but somewhat smeared, sizzly and a bit prominent. It does a so-so job recovering room ambience, sounds a bit congested and is lacking in detail. Provides a decent volume level in a medium sized room.
