Sound quality: soundcore's Motion X600 had decent overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. With the soundcore app Custom EQ set to produce the most even tonal balance bass has good impact, but is a bit boomy and doesn't go deep. Midrange is fairly even, but is somewhat hazy and a bit grainy and plasticky. Treble is extended, but is a bit sizzly, smeared and dry and the upper treble is a bit subdued. Does a decent job of recovering room ambience and is somewhat congested. When playing stereo program material with Spatial Sound turned on, the sound stage becomes bigger, but adds an echoey quality; when paying 360 spatial audio material there is no echoey artifact and the soundstage can be very wide and tall depending on the program material. When two units are used as a stereo pair the sound stage can be made wider depending on placement. There was no significant difference between Bluetooth, wired and USB sound quality. Provides a decent volume level in a medium sized room.
