Sound quality: JBL's Flip 6 had Good overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. Bass has good impact, but is a bit prominent, somewhat boomy, and deep bass is lacking. Midrange is fairly even, but is somewhat hazy and grainy. Treble is fairly extended, but is a bit prominent, and slightly smeared and sizzly. So-so recovery of room ambience, and sounds somewhat congested. The speaker is monophonic. When two units are used as a stereo pair the sound stage can be made wider depending on placement. Provides a decent volume level in a medium sized room, but can sound strained at higher volumes.
