    Fairfax E
At 42 pounds, the Fairfax E isn’t super heavy by e-bike standards. But it feels a little sluggish when you want to pedal up a steep hill without help from the electric motor. Fortunately, there are five levels of e-assist from the bike’s hub-mounted electric motor. The first four levels work well for cruising, but the top power level is best for climbing hills for the times when you don’t want to exert too much effort. The handlebar-mounted display screen is small, but its bright LEDs make it easy to see, with or without sunglasses. The bike steers well and its hydraulic disc brakes provide solid stopping power. The ride is smooth and compliant, and there are plenty of attachment points for fenders, bags, and other accessories. Although it can’t be considered high-end, the Fairfax E offers a lot of bike for the price.
