    Sausalito ST E1
At 45 lbs., the Marin Sausalito ST E1 is a lightweight bike when compared with other electric-powered models. Even so, this well-balanced bike offers a stable, confidence-inspiring ride and quick-stopping hydraulic disc brakes. There are only three power levels and the crank-mounted Shimano motor isn’t very powerful. It routes its power through the chain to a conventional 10-speed gear cassette on the rear wheel. That makes it easier to leverage the electric motor through the gears for assistance while cruising without draining the battery too quickly. The rider can make the most of the electric assist by keeping the bike in a gear that allows quicker pedal revolutions, which keep the motor’s power fully activated. Because of its light weight and copious gearing, the Sausalito is easy to pedal without the electric motor.
