No illnesses have been reported.
The recalled meals were sold at Walmarts across the U.S. (Bettergoods is a Walmart store brand.)
The recalled 22-ounce items have the following stamped on the back of their packaging:
- UPC number of 194346442706

- an expiration date of 09/19/2027 or 09/20/2027
The Risk of Listeria
Symptoms of listeria usually appear within two weeks after consuming contaminated food, and can include vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and muscle aches that last for a few days. For most otherwise healthy people, these symptoms resolve on their own.
But for those who are at the highest risk for illness, the infection can spread beyond the intestines and cause life-threatening damage to the brain and spinal cord. Listeria can also cause miscarriage, stillbirth, or serious illness in a newborn. That’s true even if the pregnant person doesn’t become ill.
If you have a fever above 101°F or are unable to keep liquids down for two or three days, you should consult a doctor.
