    Summer is salad season. Stores and farmers markets are overflowing with an array of gorgeous greens and other vegetables you can mix in. And a hearty salad can be enough for lunch or dinner and make for a quick, cool meal.

    Eating a salad can also go a long way toward helping you get the 2 to 4 cups of vegetables you should have in a day. But it’s easy to serve up one that either has too few nutrients or is too high in calories and sodium. Keep these tips in mind the next time you construct a salad.
