    Worx Recalls More Than 17,000 Pressure Washers

    Positec USA, the parent company of brands including Worx and Rockwell, has recalled more than 17,000 electric pressure washers. The sprayer hose can separate from the spray wand during use, posing an impact injury hazard to the user or anyone nearby. Positec has received 61 reports of the spray wand separating from the hose, including four reports of minor injuries, including cuts and bruises, according to the release from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

    The recall applies to the Worx WG606 13 AMP 1900 PSI pressure washer made during a specific date range. Consumer Reports has not tested this model but has tested other electric pressure washers from Worx.

    Details of the Pressure Washer Recall

    The recall: About 17,630 Worx WG606 electric pressure washers. The pressure washers are gray and orange with the Worx brand name on the front of the product and “Electric Pressure Washer” on the handle. Recalled products have serial number ranges from 20210200078905 to 20210200096490 and from 20210200097286 to 20210200097881, and the serial number is found on the product label located on the main body of the product on the back of the soap tank. The model number can be found on that same label in the upper left.

    The risk: The spray hose and disconnect from the spray wand, posing an injury hazard to the user or anyone nearby.

    Incidents/injuries: Positec USA has received 61 reports of detachment including four reports of minor injuries.

    Where and when sold: The pressure washers were sold at midwestern locations of Menards as well as independent hardware stores nationwide from April 2021 through November 2021 for about $180.

    The remedy: Stop using the recalled pressure washer and contact Positec USA for a free wand replacement.
