Hurricane Shield Series is part of the
Replacement Windows test program at
Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, Storm Window
models like the Hurricane Shield Series are rated on multiple criteria, such as those
listed below.
Wind resistance 70 degrees:
Wind resistance measures each window's ability to keep out drafts with 25 and 50 mph winds an an outdoor temperatures of 70º F.
Rain resistance:
Rain resistance measures their ability to keep water out from heavy, wind-driven rain.
Impact resistance:
Window's ability to protect against a projectile shot into it.
