If you didn't buy a new TV during Black Friday or Cyber Monday, you may be wondering if you missed out on your last chance to get a great deal on a new set.

We've been scouring the ads and online promotions for holiday TV deals, and the good news is that a fair number of sets are still being offered at their Black Friday prices. Other sets are just a bit more expensive but still cheaper than they were before Black Friday sales started.

More on the Holidays

Even this post-Christmas period isn't your last chance to get a good deal on 2017 televisions.  You're very likely to see deep discounts in the weeks leading up to Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4, 2018. Last year, we studied two years of TV prices with retail market research firm Gap Intelligence, and found that Super Bowl sales had pushed down TV prices by an average of 22 percent.

But that's January. For anyone shopping right now, here are some of the best holiday TV deals we're seeing on the larger sizes (40 inches and up) where a sale can make a big difference in affordability. Note that prices at this time of year are volatile, so the offers you see in stores or online may be a bit different from what's listed here.

Giant TVs

TV screen sizes keep getting bigger, but prices for these jumbo-size sets are shrinking. For example, you can now get a 70-inch 4K TV from a major brand for as little as $1,000. And you can go even bigger at that price if you're willing to consider a lesser-known brand and accept less-than-stellar performance.

Here are some of the best holiday deals we've seen on very big TVs:

70-Inch Sony 4K UHD Smart TV, $1,298 at Several Retailers
This is the Sony KD-70X690E, an entry-level 4K set. Walmart had it for $1,498 but it's now under $1,300 at numerous retailers. It was about $100 cheaper on Black Friday.

70-Inch Vizio 4K UHD Smart TV, $978 at Sam's Club
The Vizio M70-E3 is a step-up SmartCast model, sandwiched between the P-series models above it and the E-series sets below it. It's at this price at Sam's Club, and about $1,100 at Best Buy and B&H. This is a good deal, since Dell had the same TV for $1,500 during its Black Friday sale, along with a $200 Dell gift card.

75-Inch Vizio 4K UHD Smart TV, $1,778 at Sam's Club
The Vizio E75-E3 is another SmartCast TV, and it's $200 more at Best Buy and Walmart right now.

75-Inch Sceptre 4K UHD TV, $1,200 at Walmart
It's the Sceptre U750CV-U, a basic low-priced TV from a brand found mainly at Walmart. Sceptre sets typically haven't done very well in our tests, but we haven't reviewed this model.

78-Inch RCA 4K TV, $1,200 at Walmart
This is a super-low price for a 78-inch TV, though RCA is a brand that hasn't done especially well in our TV ratings. This TV, the RCA RTU7877, is $100 more expensive than when we first listed it, but it still costs about $1,700 right now at Costco. It's a basic set without smart-TV capability.

75-Inch TCL 4K UHD Roku TV, $1,500 at Costco. This is the TCL 75C803, the largest screen size available in this series. Right now this set is only available at Costco as far as we can tell, and you have to be a member to see the price.

58-Inch Samsung 4K UHD Smart TV, $548 at Walmart
We saw this set, the Samsung UN58MU6070, during Black Friday and Cyber Monday at this price. It was exclusive to Walmart in this screen size, but right now it's out of stock. Keep checking back, because it's $800 at Abt Electronics right now.

58-Inch Samsung 4K UHD smart TV, $550 at P.C. Richard. The Samsung UN58MU6100FXZA is about $50 cheaper here than at other retailers, including Best Buy. Pricewise, it compares to the Samsung listed above at Walmart.

65-Inch Insignia 4K UHD Roku TV, $700 at Best Buy. This set, in Best Buy's house brand, is the Insignia NS-65DR620NA18, a 4K Roku TV. It's a fairly basic 60Hz model that doesn't support HDR.

60-Inch Sony 4K UHD smart TV, $899 Almost Everywhere
This is the Sony KD-60X690E, an entry-level 4K model that arrived later in the year. It's a bit pricier now than during Black Friday.

65-Inch Vizio 4K UHD Smart TV, $679 at B&H
The Vizio E65-E1 set is selling for $800 at Best Buy and more at Target, but we saw it for $600 during Black Friday.

65-inch TCL 4K UHD Roku TV, $1,000 at Amazon. The bigger screen size to the 55-inch set listed above, Amazon has this set, the TCL 65C807, for about $100 less than elsewhere if you use the coupon code "TCLMAXIMDEC." It's part of TCL's design-focused "C" series.

65-Inch Samsung 4K UHD Smart TV, $850 at Best Buy
