You can save 25 percent on a Bear mattress and get a free sheet set and two free Cloud pillows with the code CM25. That sale price matches the best we’ve seen this year. The original mattress from Bear performed well in our tests, and it’s a good choice for back and side sleepers who are petite or of average height. (Tall folks may want to look elsewhere.) CR’s tests found that this mattress tends to retain heat, so it may be best for those who sleep cooler.

Back sleepers are especially well served by this moderately priced innerspring mattress; they can look forward to impressive support. And most side sleepers will also be well supported. (Large and tall side sleepers are the exception.) This model is highly stable, and the durability is first-rate, with no discernible sagging, softening, or other damage over eight years of simulated use. The 12-inch height means there’s no need for deep-pocket fitted sheets.

Casper’s flagship The Casper foam mattress is a great option for back sleepers. It earns high scores in our back sleeper support tests for every body size. For side sleepers, this mattress is still a solid choice, with nearly as high scores for each body size. The Casper is slightly firmer than average, earning a 6 on our firmness scale. Casper foam mattresses also get top marks for comfort and owner satisfaction, according to data from our member survey.

The Casper Hybrid innerspring mattress earns top marks in all of our side sleeper support tests, making it a better choice for side sleepers than the Original listed above. Large/tall back sleeper support earns scores nearly as high, while petite and average back sleeper support ratings are middle-of-the-road. Overall, CR members thought their Casper innersprings were a nice choice for comfort and owner satisfaction in our member survey.

This online-only mattress-in-a-box retailer is offering a discount on its namesake mattress, the GhostBed. However, this sale price is not quite as good as we’ve seen in recent weeks when the mattress was closer to $900.

The queen-size mattress does well in our tests for supporting petites who sleep on their back, and it earns top marks for durability, which means it shows little change in performance after eight to 10 years of simulated use in our tests.

Finding the right mattress for how you sleep can be tricky, but in our tests the Midnight Luxe was a great choice for people of all sizes, whether they sleep on their back or side. When you use the code CMSALE200 you’ll save $200 on this mattress and get two free pillows. One thing to note is that it’s 14 inches high, meaning you’ll need to use deep-pocket sheets.

The Solaire mattress by Saatva is made with certified organic materials, a plus for those who prefer that their bedding be organic and don’t mind the cost. It offers impressive and stable support for all sleepers. Saatva air mattresses also received high praise for comfort and owner satisfaction in our member survey. Saatva is offering 10 percent off everything on its website or 15 percent off orders over $2,500 for its Cyber Monday sale, and the discount will be applied automatically once you add an item to your cart.

Sleep Number’s 360 P6 Smart Bed is a top-rated adjustable air mattress in CR’s ratings. Both partners can adjust the firmness of independent halves of the bed. Our tests found that this mattress doesn’t retain warmth, so it’s a good choice for keeping you cool if you tend to sleep hot.

CR’s tests show that Tuft & Needle makes decent mattresses all-around. The Original got above-average scores in our tests for all side sleepers and middling scores for back sleepers. It also performed well in breathability tests, so it might be a good option if you sleep hot. But our testers found that this model may be softer than advertised, so be sure to read up on each model before you buy.
