Yonkers, NY — Consumer Reports (CR), the nonprofit research, testing and consumer advocacy organization, appoints Janice Menke Abraham, former President and CEO of United Educators, and Jorge Luis Fontanez, former CEO of B Lab U.S. and Canada, to its Board of Directors.

At CR’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Sonal Shah, Chair of Consumer Reports’ Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer at The Texas Tribune, was also re-elected, along with Millie Chu Baird, Vice President in Environmental Defense Fund’s Office of the Chief Scientist, and Katherine Maher, President and CEO of National Public Radio.

“From the explosion of AI to rising prices, people face more complex challenges than ever,” said Phil Radford, President and CEO of Consumer Reports. “Janice and Jorge bring deep experience in innovation, organizational strategy, and social impact to help expand CR’s legacy and the way we improve people’s lives.”

“No matter how the world changes, our role as a Board is to ensure Consumer Reports remains a trusted, independent voice for consumers,” said CR Board Chair Shah. “Janice and Jorge will help us think boldly about what that future looks like to strengthen CR for generations to come.”

Shah, Baird, and Maher were elected to three-year terms.
