Cleaning and Disinfecting Wipes
Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
These wipes required an extra swipe to remove jam from a stovetop and their smell is very strong. That being said, they cleaned up sriracha well, and were easy to remove from its packaging.
Method All-Purpose Cleaning Wipes
These thick wipes were among our favorites. Not only did they clean all surfaces well, but they were drier than most wipes, so there’s no waiting for your surfaces to dry. They feature a pleasant, pink grapefruit scent.
Concentrated Cleaners
Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner, 2X Concentrated Formula
This classic, bright, concentrated cleaner can be used on most home surfaces. In our tests, it was especially good at lifting dirt from floors. It’s strongly scented, but if you’re looking for a bargain, it’s a solid buy, especially at 17% off.
Dish Soap
Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Dish Soap
This dish soap produced rich suds and had an elevated, herbal scent like no other we tested. It is also available in an easy-to-dispense 16-ounce bottle.
Fabric Deodorizers
Zorbx Odor Remover
This was the only fabric deodorizer that helped rid fabrics of a strong, unpleasant onion odor in our lab. It’s unscented, so it doesn’t just mask odors, but eliminates them. It also did not stain any of the materials we used in testing.
Facial Tissue
Caboo Tree Free Facial Tissues
These bamboo tissues aren’t the softest on skin, but they are absorbent and strong. Plus, the brand claims that its tissues and the box they come in are FSC-certified.
Garden Hose Nozzles
This garden hose nozzle has ten (rather than the typical eight) watering patterns. It’s excellent for misting, so we’d recommend it if you have delicate plants that require a gentle watering.
Glass Cleaners
Windex Original Glass Cleaner
This well-known cleaner left mirrors, windows, stovetops, and glass shower doors absolutely flawless in our testing. It is made with ammonia, so avoid using it on tinted windows or other surfaces that may be damaged.
Windex Fast Shine Foam Glass Cleaner
This foaming glass cleaner delivers a mess-free cleaning experience with the powerful cleaning you expect from Windex. Use it to clean glass, ceramic tiles, countertops, and even appliances.
Grout Pens
X-Protector Tile Pens
This grout pen has a super-precise tip, making small grout lines easier to access. It doesn’t clump up or get uneven after a few minutes of use.
Multipurpose Cleaners
Mrs. Meyers Multisurface Everyday Cleaner
Mrs. Meyer’s Multisurface Everyday Cleaner worked well to clean up light-to-moderate messes in our testing. Its scent is light and pleasant. Our tester found that oily and greasy messes required more effort to clean than with some other multipurpose cleaners tested.
Pill Organizers
Koviuu Weekly Pill Organizer
This colorful pill organizer has lots of room and good organization, including the ability to sort pills by day or night. And although we tested better options for travel, we wouldn’t rule this one out—it might be a bit bulky, but it’s lightweight.
Pillar Plus XL 7-Day Pill Organizer
The Pillar Plus is a solid travel-friendly pill organizer, and it’s cute, too. It doesn’t look especially like a pill organizer, so if discretion is a necessity, we’d recommend it.
Powder Cleansers
Bon Ami Scratch-Free Powder Cleanser
This powder cleaned stainless steel sinks beautifully, and was able to erase scratch marks on ceramic plates well. All but one of its ingredients are included in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safer Chemical Ingredients List (the only powder cleanser in our evaluations to boast this).
Quart Bags
Ziploc Storage Quart Bags
Although hard to close, these are very sturdy quart bags, and make a great option for parents with toddlers who have a penchant for throwing their snacks. We love their stand-up bottom, which makes it easier to add foods without making a mess. These are perfect for food prep and leftovers.
Shower Cleaners
OxiClean Bathroom Cleaner
This shower cleaner is considered a disinfectant, though it doesn’t contain bleach. It’s suitable for bathtubs, faucets, sealed granite, shower doors, shower areas, chrome, glass, glazed ceramic, glazed porcelain, glazed tile, plastic laminate, stainless steel, and most bathroom surfaces. We barely needed to apply any effort to clean our shower after spraying with this stuff—it’s that easy.
Lysol Power Bathroom Foamer
You can use this shower cleaner on glazed porcelain and ceramic tile, stainless steel fixtures, laminated plastic, shower doors, vanity tops, sinks, chrome fixtures, and linoleum. You need to let it sit to work, but doing so lets it work quite well.
Sponges
Scotch-Brite Zero Scratch Scrub Sponges
This sponge’s curved shape allows easier access to hard-to-reach spaces; our tester found it was excellent for cleaning wine glasses. You don’t want to use this sponge on stainless steel (despite the “zero scratch” claim).
Toilet Paper
Angel Soft Soft and Strong
Angel Soft is a gentle, two-ply toilet paper that’s a great pick for sensitive skin, and it’s budget-friendly while still breaking down well in older plumbing and septic systems. The trade-off is that it isn’t very strong and can be a little frustrating to start on a new roll because of the extra glue holding it closed.
Amazon Aware 3-ply Bamboo Toilet Paper
This bamboo TP was one of our faves in testing, as it’s softer than the typical bamboo toilet paper (at least that we’ve tried) and is practically lint-free. It’s a great option for septic systems, too, since it dissolves quickly.
