Amazon Prime Day brings discounts on all kinds of vacuums, including hand vacs, uprights, and robotic models

If you’re looking to buy a stick vacuum or replace your hand vac, this is a great time. Amazon’s four-day Prime Day event starts today and runs through Friday, June 26, with great deals for Prime members. Amazon isn’t the only retailer promising discounts, either. Walmart, Best Buy, and Target are all holding competing sales that will last until the end of this week, and other retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s are sure to have competitive pricing as well.

Whether you want a hands-off robotic vacuum, a lightweight stick vac, or a heavy-duty upright or canister vacuum, we’ve found tons of great options at a lower price. We’ve also spotted a few deals on top-performing carpet cleaners, steam mops, and combo vacuum-mops.

We consider various factors when highlighting vacuum sales. These include a model’s performance in CR’s tests, its predicted reliability based on data from our member surveys, and the size of the discount compared with the original list price and the current “street price” (i.e., the typical cost of the product). We’re following all of the best Prime Day deals on top-rated vacuums from our tests, and we’ll keep this page updated as more discounts become available.

Cordless Stick Vacuums

We like the Shark Vertex Pro IZ662H’s many features. The wand can be bent to reach underneath furniture, and the vacuum itself folds for more compact storage. The vacuum is a strong cleaner, though it’s not as impressive on carpet as it is on bare floors. Its battery run time is relatively long, so you don’t have to worry as much as some other vacuums that the Shark will die on you while you’re in the middle of cleaning. This is the best price we’ve ever seen, beating the typical sale price by $50.

Still undecided?
CR's expert guidance and unbiased reviews can help you purchase with confidence.

The Shark PowerDetect IP1251 comes with lots of bells and whistles, including a dirt detection feature and a floor detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed based on the surface it’s vacuuming. It’s very good at sucking up debris from carpets and is even more impressive at picking up pet hair. The vacuum can be converted into a hand vac and folded for storage.

The Bosch Unlimited 10 BCS1041TUC is currently selling at the lowest price we’ve seen this year. We appreciate its convenient features, especially its bendable tube that makes it easier to clean under furniture, and its relatively long battery time. It’s a strong cleaner and can pick up debris when moving both forward and backward, unlike other vacuums that typically pick up debris only when pushed forward.

The Miele Duoflex is at the lowest price we’ve seen this year. It scores well in nearly all of our cleaning tests. It’s excellent at cleaning debris from bare floors as well as picking up pet hair. It’s only so-so at vacuuming dirt from carpets, but that’s not uncommon for stick vacs, which aren’t as powerful as uprights. What stands out the most about this model is how easy it is to use; we like how simple it is to remove the vacuum’s dustbin and clean its filter.

Robotic Vacuums

For a less expensive option than other robovacs, the Eufy C10 T2292 is a great choice if you don’t have too many carpeted areas in your home. It’s also back down to the best price we’ve seen all year. It does a stand-up job at cleaning up pet hair and debris from bare floors. The vacuum’s base station automatically empties out its dustbin, and it uses laser technology to deftly navigate through different rooms. Its profile is pretty slim, making it easier for it to clean underneath furniture without getting stuck.

The iRobot Roomba Max 705 might be slightly more expensive than some other robots, but it’s the highest-performing one we’ve tested, which may be a reason to lay out the cash. This price just dropped $100 at Best Buy and iRobot, even lower than it was during the holidays, making it a great time to buy. It’s quiet and does well in every cleaning test we’ve thrown at it. It’s also outstanding at vacuuming up pet hair and is no slouch at cleaning carpets either, with a feature that increases suction power when it detects carpet. This vacuum is also better than many other robotic vacuums at navigating spaces and avoiding obstacles.

Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

The Bissell FlexClean FurForce 4270L is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to both vacuuming and mopping functions. However, compared to some other robot vacuum-and-mop combos we’ve tested, it lacks certain amenities. The base automatically empties the device’s dustbin, but you’ll need to clean the device’s mopping pads and refill the robot with cleaning formula yourself. Its current price matches the lowest price we’ve seen this model sell for this year.

The Mova P10 Pro Ultra Gen2 is excellent at vacuuming, impressing us with its ability to clean carpets, an area that other robot vacuum and mop combos might struggle with. While its mopping function isn’t as strong, it’s still fairly decent. The model comes with a base that automatically empties the vacuum dustbin, cleans and dries the mopping pads, and refills the mop reservoir with cleaning solution. On sale, the Mova is usually priced at around $500, so this is the lowest price we’ve seen in awhile.

Steam Mops

The Steam & Go Housekeeper 10-in-1 SAG806D does a bang-up job at cleaning stains off tile floors. It has a fairly long runtime and comes with many convenient tools, including attachments for cleaning tile grout, clothes, furniture, and carpets. We’ve seen it sell at this price before, so while it’s a good discount, you’re likely going to be able to buy the steam mop at a similar price if you want to wait until after Prime Day.

The GorFanty 10-in-1 MultiPurpose is an excellent cleaner that can produce steam for a decent amount of time. We like that you can adjust the length of the mop to accommodate users of different heights. The mop comes with plenty of accessories, including attachments for cleaning tile grout, clothes, furniture, windows, and carpets. Right now, this steam mop has dropped to a price that’s the lowest we’ve ever seen.

Bissell Power Steamer 2685A

The Bissell Power Steamer 2685A is an impressive cleaner that comes with convenient features, such as an extension wand that allows you to reach higher, less accessible places and tools for steaming fabric, cleaning grout, and cleaning windows. It’s currently selling at the lowest price we’ve seen all year, making it a sizable discount.

It’s hard to find fault with the Tineco Floor One S5, which does an outstanding job of cleaning stains off of ceramic tiles. It’s both a vacuum that can handle wet and dry messes and a steam mop. Especially handy is the self-cleaning function that automatically washes the brush roll. While this steam mop has frequently gone on sale, this is the lowest price we’ve seen it sell at this year.

Upright Vacuums

If you’re a pet owner, take notice: the price on this Shark Vertex DuoClean AZ2002 is a real steal. (It’s the lowest we’ve seen it go in the past six months.) It picks up pet hair especially well and has exceptional suction power. It also has a lift-away canister, which makes cleaning hard-to-reach places easier. The self-cleaning brush roll prevents pet hair (and any long hair) from wrapping around it and getting tangled in the vacuum.

The Shark Stratos AZ3002 is good for any home that has a mixture of carpets and bare floors, especially if it’s also home to a pet. It does a solid job cleaning carpets and an excellent job on bare floors. The lift-away feature that allows it to be used like a canister is another bonus. The price has fluctuated a lot this year, and it’s currently selling at a discount typical of this vacuum.

The Shark PowerDetect AZ4002 tackles cleaning jobs with ease. It’s also fairly quiet and comes packed with handy features, among them a dirt sensor that automatically boosts power to pull up more debris. It can detect floor types and adjust the speed of its brush rolls accordingly. For those who hate having to extricate hair from a vacuum’s brush rolls, the PowerDetect’s rolls are designed with a self-cleaning feature to guard against entanglements. This current price is on par with the lowest price we’ve seen this vacuum sell for this year.

Combo Vacuum-Mops

The Tineco Floor One S3 Smart Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner Mop can pick up dry debris such as rice, cereal, and sand with aplomb. It’s also very good at cleaning wet spills and removing stains. Another plus: it boasts one of the longest run times among the models we’ve seen, so you won’t have to stop and recharge the combo vacuum-mop in the middle of your cleaning. Its current discount at Walmart is the lowest we’ve seen on this model.

Canister Vacuums

The Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog is pricey, but at $200 off, it’s worth considering if you’re looking for a canister. It’s a great vacuum to have if you have allergies or asthma because it doesn’t release debris into the air as you’re cleaning it up from the floor. It also earns strong marks for vacuuming pet hair, making it a good choice for pet owners. We’ve seen this vacuum sell for slightly lower prices, so if you don’t buy it during Prime Day, you might still get it at a discount later on.

Cleaning-wise, the Miele Guard L1 won’t disappoint. It’s especially great on bare floors and at picking up pet hair, and cleans carpets well too. At 22.5 pounds, however, it’s on the heavier side. (The wand itself is heavy because of the motor head inside.) A unique feature is its LCD screen, which shows the selected cleaning mode, vacuum bag fullness level, and exhaust filter saturation. We’ve seen the canister sell at better prices, though this is still a nice discount.

Carpet Cleaners

The Dirt Devil Compact Portable Spot Cleaner is a light little carpet cleaner at just 9 pounds with a full tank of solution. While the portable cleaners in our tests don’t measure up to full-sized machines in terms of their cleaning abilities, this model did well, especially when it comes to drying. It’s also one of the quieter models we tested. The tank isn’t huge (partly why the cleaner is so light), but if you’re just using it for spills and spot-cleaning, this model will do the trick.

The Hoover SmartWash+ Automatic FH52000 is convenient to handle, adequate at removing red-clay stains from carpet, and outstanding at removing cleaning solution to leave carpets dry, according to our tests. The model comes with a hose and has separate tanks for clean and dirty water. This sale brings the price back down to where it was earlier this summer.

The Shark CarpetXpert HairPro EX251BRN shines in carpet cleaning and does a great job at drying, so it won’t leave your carpet sopping wet afterward. That said, it’s definitely on the noisier side. It’s a single-tank carpet cleaner with a design that prevents hair from getting tangled in the brush roll. This is the lowest price we’ve seen for this carpet cleaner in the last six months.

The Bissell Revolution HydroSteam Pet is a great choice, impressing us with how well it cleans and dries, and how convenient it is to use. It comes with a 2-in-1 pet upholstery tool and a 6-inch tough stain tool, making it especially handy for cleaning stairs or large furniture. This price is the lowest we’ve seen for this carpet cleaner this year, so it’s a deal worth seizing.

Corded Stick Vacuums

Shark Vertex Ultralight HZ2002

With the Shark Vertex Ultralight HZ2002, you’re getting a 2-in-1 tool: a stick vac that converts to a hand vac weighing just 2.9 pounds. This vacuum is great at cleaning uncarpeted floors and sucking up pet hair. It comes with a self-cleaning pet power brush that’s designed to remove pet hair from upholstery, stairs, and more without the hair getting entangled inside. Its availability may be limited, but it’s currently selling at the best discount we’ve seen this year.

The Shark PowerDetect HZ4002 does an admirable job of cleaning bare floors and does almost as well on carpet. It features an auto-detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed to the surface, transitioning efficiently between the two. It can be pulled apart for compact storage, allowing it to stand on its own and take up minimal space. This model even delivers powerful suction in reverse for more efficient cleaning in both a forward and backward motion. We’ve seen it sell at lower prices this year, but this is still a pretty good discount.

Handheld Vacuums

The Black+Decker Flex BDH2020FL is impressive at cleaning, though it’s a bit noisy. We like that its dustbin is larger than most, so you won’t have to stop to empty it as often when you’re cleaning. It also comes with a long 4-foot hose, making it easier for you to access hard-to-reach places. Its current discount is on a par with the lowest price we’ve seen this vacuum sell for this year.

If you’re tired of lugging around a heavy hand vacuum while cleaning, you should consider the Shark Ion W1 WV201. At 1.4 pounds, it’s one of the lightest hand vacs we’ve tested. And despite its strong cleaning performance, it’s also fairly quiet. The downside is that its bin is on the small side, so you have to empty it frequently when tackling big messes.

The Dyson Car+Boat 586119-01 is pricier than the other handheld vacuums we test, but its 24-minute run time is really impressive. It’s also a strong cleaner, especially with pet hair. (Though it’s not as effective at sucking up debris from smaller crevices.) We love that this handheld vacuum comes with a pistol grip, which means less strain on your wrist. The current price is the lowest this vacuum usually sells for when discounted.
