If you’re in the market for small kitchen appliances, like air fryers and microwave ovens, trusty Dutch ovens, and other kitchen tools, you’ve come to the right place. We keep tabs on everything we test all year long, and there are some good prices right now on these, as well as large appliances like fridges, freezers, dishwashers, and ranges. In the wake of Labor Day sales, plenty of items are still available for the same low prices. Others have returned to the everyday discounts we tend to see throughout the year.
And a good deal is about more than just the price tag, so we also look at the quality of the item based on how it performs in our lab tests and at-home evaluations. Everything in this list is not only going to be easy on your wallet, but it’s going to be a great addition to your kitchen and work for a long time to come.

Countertop Icemakers
The GE Profile Opal 2.0 Nugget Icemaker is one of the best options on the market, according to CR’s tests, and Lowe’s has the steepest discount we’ve ever seen. GE claims it can produce up to 24 pounds of ice a day (our testing did not last long enough to hit the max). It’s also among the quieter icemakers we tried. This slick-looking model makes the nugget type of ice and does it faster than all other models, which earned it the only top score for speed. It also has the highest water capacity and features a large, removable plastic water reservoir, which means fewer refills. It is the priciest in our ratings, making this discount even more important if you’re thinking of buying it.
This icemaker was about $50 less recently at Best Buy, but this is the lowest price right now across multiple retailers’ sites.
Of all five CR Recommended models, the Frigidaire Icemaker’s speed score is among the lowest, but it’s top in the efficiency category. The company claims it can produce up to 26 pounds of ice daily. It is comparable to all other models except the winner for capacity, the GE Opal. Smaller than the GE, it takes up less counter space and measures 14.88 inches high, 11.70 inches wide, and 14.44 inches deep. It has a one-year warranty.
Air Fryers
The Instant Vortex 4 Plus Air Fryer 4QT is a standout for the legibility of its digital controls, relatively low noise levels, and ease of cleaning. What’s more, its square basket design makes it easy to fit in a small Pyrex dish or baking pan—great for turning out sweet treats. The measured 3-quart model has a 1-year warranty.
The Ninja Pro AF141 is an easy-to-use air fryer with a measured capacity of 3.8 quarts and a range of cooking functions, including a dehydrate setting. It’s not the quietest air fryer, but it’s not especially noisy either, and our testers found it easy to clean. It comes with pre-programmed settings for cooking different foods, plus a recipe book and cooking charts to help guide your cooking. You’ll get a 1-year warranty with this machine.
The NuWave Brio Plus 37401 has a 7.1-quart capacity that can fit a good amount of food, which is ideal if you’re batch-cooking or preparing a meal for multiple people. It excels in our assessment of its controls and for ease of cleaning, and it’s almost as quiet as air fryers get. Its digital controls are also near the top of the machine and angled upward, so it’s a little easier to use them without stooping down.
This Ninja air fryer has two baskets, and each can be removed on its own, which allows you to cook two different things at separate temperatures and cook times simultaneously (say, fries and chicken nuggets). Its total measured capacity is 6 quarts. In our tests, it was very easy to use and clean, and while it’s a little on the noisy side, it’s not the loudest of the models we’ve tested. It has six cook functions—air fry, air broil, roast, bake, reheat, and dehydrate—and programmed settings for cooking specific foods. It comes with a one-year warranty.
This air fryer is the priciest in our ratings, but it’s $50 less than its usual discount. At 22 pounds, the Typhur Dome AF03 is one of the heaviest air fryers we’ve tested, so you may want to just leave it on the countertop if you have space. It may not have the most intuitive controls, according to our tests, but it’s easy to clean—with a dishwasher-safe basket—and it receives an excellent score in our noise tests. It has a self-cleaning function to remove oil and stains, and you can adjust your settings and monitor cooking in the Typhur app.
Coffee Makers
The dispenser-style Cuisinart Coffee on Demand DCC-3000 is a self-serve drip coffee maker that lets you brew 12 cups’ worth of coffee to dispense when you please, whether back-to-back or in an hour. The machine comes with a permanent cupcake-style basket filter and a removable water reservoir. It filters your water before brewing, and there’s an indicator that lets you know when to clean the machine.
HyperChiller Iced Coffee Maker
If you love cold coffee but dislike the flavor when ice waters it down, consider this a fix. Fill two of the HyperChiller’s three separate inner chambers with water, freeze, then pour hot coffee into the third for nonwatery cold coffee 60 seconds later.
The programmable 12-Cup Capresso SG220 is a great choice for those seeking a coffee maker that’s very easy to operate and clean. It’s a simple machine with a large capacity and a 9-minute brew time, and CR’s testers rate it excellent for convenience. It also does well in terms of brew performance. Though it lacks small-batch settings, it includes brew-strength controls and basic features, such as a drip stop. In our latest survey, CR members gave Capresso drip coffee makers an average score for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
Sam’s Club isn’t marking this model on sale, but it’s at least $10 more at every other major retailer now, so I’ve included it in this list.
The Nespresso Creatista Plus is a high-end single-serve coffee maker aimed at true coffee enthusiasts. It combines Nespresso’s popular and convenient pods with features like a built-in frother for milk-based drinks like lattes and cappuccinos. The silver finish just looks plain cool, too.
Cookware
The Cuisinart GreenGourmet Hard Anodized GG-12 is a 12-piece set that includes a steamer insert that could make it even easier to cook without oil, steam a whole fish, heat up frozen dumplings, and reheat leftovers that need a little moisture, like rice or other grains. It can help you turn out evenly simmered sauces and has an excellent score for nonstick food release. However, this set is oven-safe to only 400° F.
The eight-piece stainless steel Fissler Original-Profi Collection set earns a top mark for cooking evenness and excels in our test for heating water quickly. The handles stay cool to the touch and are sturdy, so this set should serve you well for a long time. The pans are excellent at releasing food but aren’t as impressive when it comes to holding tomato sauce at a steady simmer, earning a so-so score in that test.
The 5.5-quart Le Creuset Signature has been at the top of our ratings for years, and the price is nearly $20 less than it has been in the last few weeks. And while some newcomers perform just as well, the Le Creuset name is still highly sought-after. The speed of heating is top-notch, and this Dutch oven is a cinch to clean. But if you bake a lot of bread, there are better choices. It weighs 12 pounds, less than most, and has an 8-inch cooking diameter. The loop handles are nice and wide.
The Babish 14-inch carbon steel wok has a flat bottom, making it usable on all types of cooktops, including electric and induction. In our tests, cooking evenness in this wok was top-notch, and it showed very good heating speed. In addition to its main handle, there’s a metal helper handle, making it easier to lift when full. Our testers found it easy to clean and use. This wok comes pre-seasoned, which is handy because seasoning a wok manually can be a time-consuming process.
Blenders
This is the best price we’ve seen in months for the Professional Plus Kitchen System BN801 Blender, which is the highest-rated blenders we’ve tested. It’s especially handy if you plan on using a new blender to make smoothies and soups, considering its excellent performance in our tests for icy drinks and purees. It also has very good performance in our ice crush tests.
The Ninja TWISTi High Speed Duo’s intelligent programs and five push-button functions eliminate guesswork while blending or pulsing soups, smoothies, frozen drinks, spreads, and more. The 1600-watt power blender has hybrid-edge chopping and crushing blades, a built-in twist tamper, and a removable drizzle cap that allows ingredients and ice cubes to be added while processing. If you like hearty soups and tasty smoothies, this slightly noisy blender might be for you.
The capable, durable 1,500-watt NutriBullet Smart Touch NBF50420 does as superb a job as top-rated, full-sized blenders in making smoothies and puréeing. It’s also a capable ice-crusher. We judged it to be super-convenient in terms of cleaning, having clear controls and jar markings, and pouring ease. It’s also relatively lightweight, with a jar weighing 2.2 pounds vs. the 3 pounds you’ll tend to find in other highly rated models. But it’s just so-so for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
The GE G8H1AASSPSS Blender is an immersion model that comes with a whisk and chopper, and it’s available now at a sweet price. It showed excellent performance in our soup puree tests, and the chopper attachment did a great job grating cheese. The whisk attachment allows you to quickly whip egg whites to stiff peaks and easily turn heavy cream into rich whipped cream.
Mixers
The Cooklee SM-1551 holds its own against better-known competitors. And the price is right. Whipping time and mixing cookie dough are top-notch, and it kneads bread dough well and quietly. Our testers found it convenient to use. It’s lighter than any of our other top contenders, and the bowl is almost 10 quarts vs. 5 for most other stand mixers. Whether you need that much volume is your call. Keep in mind that this mixer has a tilt head.
The KitchenAid KHM6118CU 6-Speed shows nearly the same performance in our tests as the more expensive 7-speed KitchenAid Architect KHM7210, plus it has a flexible rubber-like sleeve on the bottom of each beater to help scrape up ingredients more easily and make quicker work of mixing. We’ve seen lower prices on this model before, but this is still quite a deal for a KitchenAid, and it’s a highly giftable item, to boot.
Although the price has gone up by $10 since Prime Day, it’s still better than paying full price if you need a trusty hand mixer right now. If you can wait, the price may drop during Black Friday sales in a few months.
Toaster Ovens and Toasters
If you’re looking for a toaster oven that can handle multiple tasks, the Ninja Foodi XL Pro DT201—which can air fry, convection bake, broil, and dehydrate in addition to toasting and baking—may be worth considering. Our testers rated it excellent for ease of use, meaning it has intuitive controls and there aren’t too many steps to set the temperature and cook time you want. It can turn out a single slice of toast almost as well as a full batch, plus it’s easy to clean up afterward. Ninja receives excellent scores for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction in CR’s member surveys.
Kate Spade’s 2-Slice Toaster nabbed an excellent score in our lab tests for color range and toasting time. That means it evenly browns your slices—no matter whether you like ’em light or dark—and it does it quickly, so you’re not drooling into those toaster wells (which happen to be big enough for bagels).
The yellow version was only $36 during early Prime Day sales, but this is the lowest price currently available.
We’ve only seen this good a price on the Ninja DCT401 toaster oven a couple of times since it was first released. It offers a double oven, with convection on top and the more conventional toaster oven functions (such as toast and bake) plus air frying in the larger bottom cavity. This model did a very good job in our tests for toasting, baking, and ease of cleaning. Ninja toaster ovens in general receive top marks for owner satisfaction, according to CR’s surveys.
Kitchen Tools
Sweet Alice Gravity Electric Pepper and Salt Mill Set
The Sweet Alice grinders operate differently from other sets we’ve tried. When you invert them, as you would with a manual pepper grinder, the mills automatically start up. They have soft LED lights that beam toward the area you’re seasoning. And the high-volume reservoirs are attractive, too: You can see right inside the mills. We appreciated the even grind, even on course settings, and found them to be quite easy to fill. They were among the most difficult of these grinders to clean, though.
Greenrain Silicone Pastry Mat
This handy nonslip silicone mat comes with measured markings that can take the guesswork out of baking. The food stylist and cookbook author Jesse Szewczyk loves to use this silicone mat for rolling out dough to specific shapes and doing so much more. “Need a 10-inch circle for a pie? Or an 11-inch square for shortbread?” he says. “Just check the mat! Not only does it help make measuring easy, but it’s nonstick and makes cleanup a breeze.” The best part? You can roll it up and take it to the sink—no need to clean the countertop—and just as easily stash it in a drawer when you’re done.
Made by one of the most trustworthy thermometer companies in the grilling industry, the ThermoPro TP19H instant-read meat thermometer offers handheld temperature reading with a single stowable probe. There’s a built-in LED and rotation lock for the display, and a magnetic backing allows you to store it on your refrigerator between meals. Perfect for checking meats, this simple and affordable thermometer delivers reliably accurate readings within seconds of probing. It’s now $3 less than the typical discount.
ThermoPro’s SmartBT Meat Thermometer TP920 is one of the lower-priced leave-in two-probe wireless thermometers. It sends instant temperature readings to your smartphone via Bluetooth, offering excellent response time and accuracy. The easy-to-use app estimates the remaining cooking time for nearly all cuts and varieties of meat based on guidelines from the Department of Agriculture.
Zulay Kitchen Preimum Apple Corer
The Zulay Kitchen Premium Apple Corer is a breeze to use. You press the corer down on the center of the apple, and the serrated blades allow you to core the fruit in seconds. The handle is designed to give you an easy grip, making the process quick and effective. For less than $10, this is a handy gadget to have in your kitchen.
Food Processors
The 720-watt Cuisinart Custom 14 DFP-14BCNY garners a top rating for shredding and is also a strong performer when it comes to chopping and slicing. It’s also one of the quietest models we’ve tested. It has a 14-cup capacity, stands 15 inches high, and weighs nearly 15 pounds. Many of the food processors we’ve evaluated operate with push buttons, but this one has levers, one for on, the other for pulsing and off. The warranty covers three years for the parts and five years for the motor.
You can snag this lightweight Ninja Foodi Ultimate System SS401 and enough accessories to keep you whipping, crushing, slicing, and blending for days on end. The 1,200-watt blender/processor holds up to 9 cups and comes with a built-in tamper, a blender lid and processor chute lid, a smoothie attachment and hit-the-road nutrient extraction cup, and processing discs for shredding, slicing, and grating. It has seven preset programs for smoothies, extractions, bowls, spreads, chopping, processing, and even dough making.
Microwave Ovens
With a height of just under 12 inches, the slender LG MVEF1337F will provide more clearance above your range, but you’ll pay for it in a smaller capacity. It earned top scores for defrosting evenness and convenience. LG over-the-range microwaves get a top score for reliability in our member surveys but rate just okay for owner satisfaction.
The snazzy Café CVM721M2NS5 has a recessed handle and hidden digital controls that run along the bottom. When you tap on the glass touchscreen, the options for time and cooking modes pop into view. In addition to looking good, it cooks well, earning an excellent rating in our heating evenness test. It’s also first-rate at defrosting, and it operates quietly. A sensor prevents you from overheating your food. In our member surveys, Café over-the-range microwaves earned middling scores for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
Freezers
The self-defrosting GE FUF14DLRWW offers top performance at a good value. This small upright freezer aces both the thermostat control and temperature uniformity tests, and is very good (though not the best) at keeping food frozen during a power outage. It earns a middling score for noise. It’s impressive in energy efficiency and has a bonus quick-freeze feature, which is a welcome addition at this price.
Refrigerators
The 28-inch Samsung RT16A6195SR, at the same price as it was during the last big sale, turns in solid, above-average performance among top-freezers, notching our highest possible scores for thermostat control, temperature uniformity, and energy efficiency, while earning a middling rating for noise. (Ease of use gets a less-than-satisfactory rating, but that’s typical for top-freezers.) Features are scarce here, per the norm, but it does come with gallon storage on the door and spillproof shelves. In our member surveys, Samsung top-freezers receive an exemplary score for predicted reliability but just a passable one for owner satisfaction. This model has an optional icemaker.
The 33-inch-wide LG LF25H6330S performs very well in our lab tests, receiving top scores for thermostat control and temperature uniformity, very good scores for low noise output and ease of use, and a midlevel score for energy efficiency. This WiFi-enabled fridge features a stainless steel finish, an icemaker, a through-the-door water/ice dispenser, a built-in water filter, split shelves for better organization, and digital temperature controls. In our latest member survey, LG French-doors receive decent scores for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
This model went up by $100 since July, but this is still a decent price cut.
Dishwashers
The budget-friendly LG LDFC2423V was recently $50 less, but this is still a great discount. It may get dinged in our member surveys for its middling reliability and satisfaction scores, but it has a lot going for it, starting with its stellar washing performance in CR’s tests. It’s also considerably less expensive than the Bosch models that dominate this category. This model is also fairly quiet when running and has some of the design perks that make life a lot easier, like a soil sensor, an adjustable upper rack, adjustable tines, and a time-remaining display. That said, its drying performance is just okay.
Ranges
The LG LREL6321S single oven is an exceptionally strong performer at a great price, especially since it’s fallen $50 compared to last week. It heats fast and simmers steadily on top of the stove, earning an excellent performance rating in our cooktop high and low tests. It also bakes and broils evenly. There’s no convection mode, but you’ll find a warming element, along with two high-powered burners on the cooktop. LG earned high reliability ratings for its electric ovens based on our member surveys.
